Three tools that know three versions of your opening hours

That is what happens when the calendar, the phone system and the chatbot each have their own opening-hours screen. The day you close an afternoon, you say it three times — or twice. Here a schedule is a named object, and the hubs reference it instead of copying it.

How it works

Why it is a shared object and not one more screen

A single answer to “are we open?”

The question “are we open right now?” used to be asked in three places, with three possible answers. It is now resolved in one place, and the hubs ask it. A call received at 6.05 p.m. and a booking slot at 6.05 p.m. get the same answer, because it is the same one.

  • Recurring weekly slots
  • Several slots within one day
  • A single evaluation, shared by the hubs
  • Schedule active or disabled, without deletion

Exceptions are the rule

A schedule without exceptions does not survive a year. You switch on a country's public holidays with one setting, then decide holiday by holiday — plenty of companies work on days others take off. And a specific date can close the day or carry hours of its own: the end-of-year stocktake, the bridging day, the open day.

  • Country holidays applied, or not
  • An exception per public holiday
  • Specific dates: closed or with their own hours
  • IANA time zone, respected when evaluated

Three levels, because there are three realities

A schedule can apply to the whole account, to a workspace, or represent one person's working hours. And a schedule can stay private to a precise use — the hours of one phone line — without cluttering the list others reuse.

  • Account, workspace or user level
  • Shared schedule, or private to one use
  • At most one default schedule
  • Author and date of the last change

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which modules use these schedules?

Online booking reads them to work out which slots are genuinely free, telephony to decide between ringing and going to voicemail, the chatbot to know whether it is in hours. They reference the same object; they keep no copy of it.

Can hours differ per department?

Yes, by creating a schedule per workspace or per department. That is exactly the case of a town hall whose registry office and technical services do not open at the same hours.

How do I handle an exceptional closure?

With a specific date: you mark the day closed, and every hub takes it into account immediately — no slot offered, phone system on voicemail, chatbot in out-of-hours mode.

Are time zones handled?

Yes, each schedule carries its own, in the standard format. Every evaluation happens in that zone, which avoids daylight-saving mistakes and suits teams spread across several countries.

What happens to a schedule deleted by mistake?

A schedule is disabled rather than removed, and a schedule still referenced stays readable. It is a configuration object: we do not want a deletion to silently break a calendar in production.
